Vegetation management can be a dangerous occupation and the safety of our staff and all clientele is paramount.
It is mandatory that a BBTS HIRAC (Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment and Control) form be completed at each job site, before any work proceeds.
We aim to train of our staff to the highest industry standards required for each of their respective positions. With this training and knowledge base, our employees provide a comprehensive quality based service, with a strong understanding of the impact on the local environment, flora and fauna.
BBTS has over 8 fully qualified arborist on staff and have run many past and present employees through an Arboricultural Level 3 traineeship with the North Melbourne Institute of TAFE. This is run in conjunction with practical training in house and external assessments conducted by some of the top arborists in the country.
Our employees already hold much valid practical experience, knowledge and skills in arboriculture but we think it is important that they learn all aspects of the industry. By doing this, we not only benefit the staff by providing them with firm qualifications to further their employment opportunities but it ensures that our company can offer all of its clients the best possible service through skilled and knowledgeable personnel.

- Chainsaw Maintenance and Operation

Quality Management System and OH&S Compliance
BBTS Quality Management system is based on the standard ISO 9001 (Quality). It is regularly reviewed and certified by the international certifying body JAS-ANZ.
BBTS has a comprehensive OH&S policy in place. This includes the availability of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) for all specific work practices. Our staff is trained to conduct thorough Hazard reduction assessments on site.
Our OH&S system is reviewed and updated on a regular basis. We run monthly OH&S meetings and at any time run staff talks in relation to any new and relevant safety alerts.
It is mandatory for all staff to have a current and valid OH&S Construction card “White Card”.
BBTS carries $20 million public liability insurance.
BBTS carries $1 million professional indemnity insurance.
BBTS covers all of its staff and subcontractors (where relevant) for workers compensation through QBE.
All vehicles are comprehensively insured and carry current registration and CTP insurances.
- All mobile plant is covered with comprehensive insurance.
- Certificates of currency are available upon request.
- Any subcontractors used are checked for same relevant cover.
